Famous Italian composer. Won worldwide glory with his operas – above all with his witty, fluttering comic opera The Barber of Seville and a serious opera William Tell.
Composed easily and quickly but when he was only 37, he gave up composing and since then wrote just a small number of compositions.
For clarinet and orchestral accompaniment, composed the work Introduction, Theme & Variation for Clarinet & Piano, the piece very often played even today.
