Berg is an Austrian composer. He was a member of the Second Viennese School with his teacher Arnold Schoenberg and another student, Anton Webern. The School represented the most modern musical trend between the two wars – expressionism.
Most valuable work is his opera Wozzeck.
Four Pieces for Clarinet and Piano faithfully express his original and bizarre musical language, full of contrasts and with the absence of traditional tonality (so-called atonality).
