Vlastimir Peričić

VLASTIMIR PERIČIĆ
(7 dec. 1927 in Vršac 1 march 2000 in Belgrade)


He completed his studies in composition at the Faculty of Music with professor Stanojlo Rajičić, and attended two semesters at the Academy of Music and Drama art in Vienna with professor Alfred Uhl.

In 1956 he commenced his career as an assistant at the Music Academy (now the Faculty of Music) in Belgrade. His distinguished career ended in 1993 with his retirement as Professor. His teaching covered the theory of music and the history of Yugoslav music.

He also wrote a number of chamber and orchestral compositions, books in musical theory, a manual Composers in Serbia, and a Dictionary of musical terms in several languages, etc.

Corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
