I Am Studying Clarinet IV

I Am Studying Clarinet, school for the elementary level, in 4 volumes (for the 1st to 4th year of teaching). Conceived according to the newest pedagogical methods for rapid and successful learning of instrument, strictly observing the principles of graduality and continuity. Each volume contains:

 

– the exercises resp. etudes,
– several duos for two clarinets,
– a final piece with piano accompaniment (evtl. suggested for examination),
– drawings of fingering for each new tone,
– theoretical explanations (notation, species of time, scales, ornaments etc.),
– short annotations on conposers having written for clarinet (with their portraits),
– introductory texts (different for each volume): informations on the origin and construction of the clarinet and its kinds, tables of fingering, useful advices for pupils (breathing and finger technique, body pose, during and disposition of the time for practising, use of the metronome, rehearsals with piano, behaving on the stage, a survey of musical styles, the clarinettist as a performer and a teacher, etc.).

 

Scope of the volumes: I 58 pp. (+4 pp. of the clarinet part for duos and the final piece), II 53 (+8), III 57 (+8), IV 58 (+7).

All 4 volumes were edited by the Institute for textbooks and teaching aids in Belgrade, 1997/98, and were introduced into the official teaching program.

The author has retained the right for editing abroad, and in other languages.

Introduzione ed Allegro

Many of the etudes for the school I Am Studying Clarinet I-IV, were written in the form of songs. One needs to know that all the etudes, which contain dynamic and agogic signature, were arranged for the piano accompaniment by professor Peričić and I and published in a special book Melodious studies with piano (I-II). So, young musicians have a double benefit when practicing:


1. they are making progress and at the same time
2. preparing a new piece for their future performances
.

That is the case with down performed etude No. 44 in my school for clarinet I Am Studying Clarinet IV. We called it Introduzione ed Allegro and it can be used as an etude, and if you do it better, as a piece to perform. Introduction ed Allegro is in my book Melodious studies with piano II.

  PREDGOVOR

I Am Studying Clarinet IV

    Učim klarinet IV je poslednja od četiri sveske škole. Po sadržaju ona predstavlja sistematsko-kontinuirani nastavak prethodne tri sveske. Gradivo je namerno dato u nešto većem obimu, kako bi sposobniji učenici imali prilike da se svestrano pripreme za svoje profesionalno opredeljenje – srednju muzičku školu. Moji talentovaniji i vredniji učenici su prelazili celo ovo gradivo u toku školske godine, dok sam za manje obdarene vršio nešto uži izbor, što savetujem i kolegama nastavnicima.

    Kao i kod prethodnih svezaka, i pri izradi ove bili su mi od pomoći saveti recenzenata – profesorâ Vlastimira Peričića, Ante Grgina i Miloša Gerića, kojima se i ovom prilikom zahvaljujem. Želeo bih takođe da zahvalim i mojim dragim učenicima na pomoći, kao i kolegama na dobronamernim primedbama i sugestijama.
     U ovoj svesci najveći broj etida posvećen je obradi ornamenata – ukrasa, kako se pišu i kako se izvode. Oni se provlače kroz različite tehničke vežbe koje nisu pisane, za razliku od prethodne sveske, po principu od lakšeg ka težem tonalitetu. U svakoj etidi se rešava neki sviračko-instrumentalni problem.
     Redovnim vežbanjem datih etida izgradićete dobru tehniku sviranja, lep ton i smisao za fraziranje. Naučićete nepravilne tonske grupe – sekstole, tridesetdvojinske notne vrednosti, kao i pojam solističke kadence, koji ćete nalaziti u budućim koncertima. Tu su i nepravilni taktovi. Već obrađenom tonskom opsegu dodaćemo i nove tonove fis3 i g3.
     Sve etide sa ispisanom dinamikom mogu se i javno izvoditi uz klavirsku pratnju, koja je urađena u dve sveske pod naslovom Melodične etide s klavirom, gde su etide dobile i svoje programske naslove radi animacije izvođačeve maštovitosti. To isto važi i za duete, koji se u sveskama Laki klarinetski dueti I-II nalaze uz pratnju klavira, te su u tom vidu takođe pogodni za javne nastupe.
     Kako nam je ovo već četvrta godina druženja, škola ima zadatak da vas pripremi i obuči za budući poziv muzičara – klarinetiste. Saznaćete šta vam sve ova profesija nudi i šta se sve od nje može u životu očekivati. Ovde ćete saznati karakteristike muzičkih epoha i na koji se način koje sviraju – što će vam biti veoma dragocen putokaz u budućem svladavanju novih dela.
        Za kraj, evo nekoliko misli umnih ljudi:
        ”Učini šta treba, doći će šta može.”
    ”Što se više penjemo na vrh, videćemo veće prostranstvo koje treba istražiti.”
        ”Čovek je biće spremno da samog sebe prevaziđe.”
